How we calculated this (figures as at July 2026): Flight ranges are Google Flights/Skyscanner averages. The $100 AIDC airport charge on intercontinental return tickets was introduced under Ghana's 2026 Budget and has been applied to tickets since 1 April 2026 ($30 on other African routes); airlines have also added the $18 API/PNR passenger-data fee ($9 each way) since February 2026. Visa fees are the single-entry rates published by Ghana's missions in Washington ($100), London (£60) and Ottawa (CA$160) — Caribbean fees vary by mission, and Ghana has announced fee-free e-visas for African passport holders from 25 May 2026. Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Ghana (CDC); we budget a typical US travel-clinic price. Daily accommodation, food and transport figures are our own estimates from current on-the-ground prices. USD conversions use the Bank of Ghana interbank rate (about 11.4 GHS to $1, early July 2026).
