The Journal is always free
Every free article, essay, and tool on the OurRoots Journal is available without payment, signup, or paywall. This refund policy applies only to paid Walk memberships and one-time purchases.
Digital products are non-refundable. Because Walk content — reports, guides, cultural briefings, and tools — is delivered digitally and made accessible immediately upon purchase, we are unable to offer refunds once access has been granted, except as set out below for one-time plan buyers and as required by Australian Consumer Law.
Heritage Prep Pack — $37 one-time
The Heritage Prep Pack is a one-time digital purchase. Content — including the Travel DNA Quiz, Ghana Budget Calculator, Cape Coast Castle guide, and preparation materials — is made available immediately upon payment.
No refunds. Because access is granted immediately and materials are digital, we are unable to offer refunds after purchase. Please read the product description carefully before purchasing. If you have a question about what is included, email us before buying at support@ourroots.africa.
Founding Member — $197 one-time
Founding Member is a one-time, lifetime-access purchase. This tier includes everything in the Heritage Prep Pack plus full platform access, live Zoom sessions (from September 2026), and the Circle.so community.
30-day satisfaction window. If you purchase Founding Member access and decide within 30 days of your original purchase date that it is not right for you, you may request a full refund. Email support@ourroots.africa with the subject line "Refund request" and your account email. We will process your refund within 5 business days via your original payment method.
After 30 days, Founding Member purchases are non-refundable. There are no subscriptions, no renewals, and no further charges.
Billing errors
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly — double-charged, charged after cancellation, or any other billing error — email us immediately at support@ourroots.africa. We will investigate and resolve within 5 business days. All verified billing errors are refunded in full, regardless of any other provision in this policy.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Schedule 2). If The Walk fails to meet consumer guarantees — for example, if content is not accessible, is materially different from what was represented, or fails to operate as described — you are entitled to a remedy. Your statutory rights remain fully intact and override any conflicting provision here.
