- The Walk — paid tiers:
- Heritage Prep Pack — $37 USD, one-time payment. Access to premium preparation guides and tools.
- Founding Member — $197 USD, one-time payment. Lifetime access to all preparation materials, monthly live sessions via Zoom, and the private Circle community (both available from September 2026). Limited to 500 founding seats.

5. What this Journal is not
- Not a travel agency. We do not book flights, accommodations, or tours, and do not receive commissions from anyone who does.
- Not legal, medical, or financial advice. Articles on visa requirements, vaccinations, citizenship, and cost reference official sources but should not be treated as professional advice for your individual case. Always confirm with the relevant authority (Ghana Immigration Service, the CDC, a licensed travel-health clinic, your own lawyer or accountant) before acting.
- Not an elder council or advisory body. We do not have a panel of elders providing real-time guidance. We are writers and researchers. When we cite a tradition's proverb or framing, we attribute it to that tradition — not to ourselves.
- Not a tour itinerary builder. The heritage map is a reading orientation, not a logistics planner.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Republish the editorial content on commercial platforms without permission. (Quoting one paragraph with attribution and a link is welcome.)
- Attempt to access, disrupt, or scrape the site at scale.
- Submit false or harmful information through any form.
- Use the site or our materials to promote hate, discrimination, or violence.
7. Editorial content & sourcing
All factual claims in the Journal articles cite their sources. Where we have made a mistake, please email us — we will correct it within 5 business days and add a dated correction note. The framing essays (e.g. "Am I African enough?") are editorial opinion, not statements of fact, and reflect the perspective of the writing team.
8. The Travel DNA Quiz™
The Travel DNA Quiz is a member benefit available at traveldnaquiz.com, included with Heritage Prep Pack and Founding Member access. By taking the quiz, you agree to the following:
- 90-day retake restriction: The quiz can only be taken once every 90 days. A lock is stored in your browser's local storage and enforced server-side. This restriction exists to protect the integrity of your results and the community data.
- Data collection: When you complete the quiz, the following information is recorded on our servers: the first name you enter (or "anonymous"), your Heritage Readiness Type, your dimension scores, the date and time, your IP address, and the referring page. This data is used solely to understand community readiness patterns. It is never sold or shared. See our Privacy Policy for full details and deletion rights.
- Nature of results: Your Heritage Readiness Type is a reflective prompt, not a clinical or psychological assessment. It is not a diagnosis, a prediction of how your journey will go, or a measure of your worth as a member of the diaspora.
9. The other interactive tools
The Sankofa Wisdom Card, Twi Memory Game, Heritage Readiness Score, and Budget Calculator are provided for self-reflection and planning purposes only. The Heritage Readiness Score is a prompt set, not a clinical assessment. None of these tools is a substitute for therapy, counselling, or professional travel preparation. If you find any tool triggering, please stop and reach out to a trusted person in your life.
10. Third-party links
The Journal links to government sites (Ghana Immigration Service, US CDC, World Bank, UN), DNA testing companies, and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or accuracy.
11. Disclaimers
The Journal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, the accuracy of every detail in third-party sources we cite, or the outcomes of any heritage journey you may undertake.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, 3Men Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Journal — including, without limitation, any decisions you make about heritage travel based on what you read here.
13. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be notified to subscribers by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of The Walk after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of NSW. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
